Interim Inventory Accounting Specialist – South Oxfordshire – £300–£450 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Job:
This is a 6-month interim role, supporting the business with key inventory accounting activities during a period of transition. You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity of inventory records and aligning financial reporting with operational processes.
Duties will include:

Maintaining accurate inventory valuations and reconciliations across multiple sites

Managing Bill of Materials (BoM) accounting, ensuring structures accurately reflect material usage and cost allocation

Supporting the month-end close process for inventory and cost of goods sold

Analysing variances between standard and actual costs and providing actionable insights

Collaborating with operational and supply chain teams to enhance inventory accuracy

Reviewing and improving inventory controls and reporting tools

Assisting with internal and external audit requirements relating to inventory

Providing support during system or process changes impacting inventory accounting
About the Successful Applicant:
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience in inventory accounting within a manufacturing or product-based environment. A confident communicator with excellent analytical skills, you’ll be comfortable working independently and delivering accurate results to tight deadlines. Experience with ERP systems and understanding of cost accounting principles is essential.
