About the Job
A temporary opportunity for a Finance supervisor has arisen to support the team for six month initially.

You will take charge of supervising the day-to-day operations of the transactional finance function, including oversight of Treasury, Purchase Ledger, and related controls.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising a small team of Finance Assistants
  • Overseeing Treasury and Purchase Ledger processes, including staff expenses and company credit cards
  • Providing support to the Sales Ledger function and reviewing sales invoices and credit notes
  • Monitoring and ensuring accurate and timely financial postings with supporting documentation
  • Leading supplier due diligence and ensuring prompt payments
  • Managing the grant payment and fundraising income recording processes
  • Reviewing staff expenses and credit card claims for VAT compliance and accuracy
  • Performing bank reconciliations and managing suspense account clearances
  • Monitoring bank balances and assisting with daily cashflow optimisation
  • Managing a small debtor ledger and supporting cost centres on collections
  • Resolving system issues and liaising with external support providers
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
  • Assisting with month-end balance sheet reconciliations and audits
  • Delivering training to non-finance colleagues on transactional finance best practices

About the Successful Applicant
You will ideally hold an AAT qualification (or bring equivalent experience), with a background in the charity sector being highly advantageous. Intermediate Excel skills are a must along with excellent system knowledge. A collaborative team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently will thrive in this role.
