About the Job:
This is a hands-on role reporting to the CFO, where you will take ownership of financial control and reporting across the business. You’ll lead a small team, drive improvements in processes and systems, and act as a strategic partner to department heads.
Duties will include:
- Managing all financial operations, including ledgers, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Supporting board reporting and investor materials
- Monitoring cash flow and working capital, identifying potential risks
- Ensuring statutory compliance, including tax and audit readiness
- Assisting in budgeting and maintaining rolling forecasts
- Delivering variance analysis and insightful recommendations
- Leading process enhancements to support future growth
- Overseeing payroll, expenses, and purchasing compliance
- Partnering with external advisors, auditors, and accountants
- Leading and mentoring a team of three finance professionals
- Providing financial insight to guide strategic decision-making
- Supporting fundraising, M&A, and other finance initiatives
About the Successful Applicant:
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualified experience and technical expertise in UK statutory reporting. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll bring excellent analytical capabilities, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Experience in improving financial controls and supporting fast-paced business environments is key.
