Financial Accountant
£300 per day (Umbrella)
Abingdon, Oxfordshire – Fully Onsite
Contract: February – May 2026 (Full-Time)
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident across both month-end accounting and transactional finance processes.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth finance operations across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities

Managing month-end processes across UK and US entities

Maintaining general ledgers and preparing balance sheet reconciliations

Preparing and submitting VAT returns

Supporting monthly management accounts preparation

Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

Assisting with payroll processing

Supporting credit control activities

Ensuring accurate maintenance of Xero accounting systems
About You
-
4–5+ years’ experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping

Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ideally Xero)

Proven experience across month-end, AP, AR and payroll

Advanced Excel skills
-
High attention to detail and strong process adherence

Able to work independently and proactively

Experience within a technology or software business advantageous

Qualified (or equivalent experience) preferred
