About the Job
This position will play a critical part in supporting VAT processes, particularly focused on Italian VAT compliance, as well as ensuring accurate accounting for sales and purchase transactions. The successful candidate will be expected to follow up on outstanding queries, investigate issues across departments, and ensure compliance with relevant VAT regulations.
Duties will include:
- Managing the preparation of Italian VAT returns, including gathering data and calculating Intrastat figures
- Handling document organisation and responding quickly to any required corrections
- Approving accounts payable invoices where VAT and duty elements need to be correctly allocated
- Contacting customers to verify and update incorrect VAT numbers on sales invoices
- Reviewing and correcting the setup of both sales and purchase invoices for proper VAT treatment
About the Successful Applicant
You will have a solid understanding of VAT, ideally with some experience relating to European or Italian VAT. Strong Excel skills and a good grasp of numeracy are essential, as is a proactive, investigative mindset. The ability to follow instructions and chase unresolved matters is key. Italian language skills would be a distinct advantage.
