About the Job
This is a key role within the large Payroll team, responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. You will support the end-to-end payroll process while working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high service standards.
This opportunity is particularly suited to an up-and-coming payroll professional who is keen to further develop their expertise within a fast-paced environment. You will be confident, open-minded and a quick learner, able to adapt to new processes and systems with ease.
Duties will include:
- Processing and checking payroll data submissions from various areas of the business
- Administering statutory payments, deductions, and pension contributions
- Managing attachment orders, student loans, salary sacrifice schemes and related adjustments
- Handling overpayments, manual calculations and year-to-date amendments
- Supporting RTI submissions, auto-enrolment activities and year-end processes
- Responding to payroll queries from employees, internal teams and external bodies
- Producing payslips, earnings statements and required documentation
- Assisting with reconciliations and third-party payments
- Processing BACS recalls, CHAPS and faster payments where required
- Contributing to process improvements to enhance accuracy and reduce risk
- Supporting compliance with HMRC and relevant legislative requirements
- Participating in cross-training and development across the payroll function
About the Successful Applicant
You will have proven payroll experience with a strong understanding of statutory payments, deductions and compliance requirements. Confident in using Microsoft Excel, you demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
A collaborative team player, you communicate effectively at all levels, show resilience when working under pressure and are capable of managing a consistently high volume workload. Above all, you are committed to delivering a high standard of accuracy and customer service.
