About the Job
This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join an experienced payroll team based in Reading. You will take responsibility for a portfolio of customers, delivering accurate end-to-end payroll services whilst developing strong working relationships and providing knowledgeable support.

Duties will include:

  • Managing payroll activities for an allocated portfolio of customers, ensuring an accurate and timely service.
  • Processing PAYE requirements including statutory payments, starters and leavers, pension deductions and attachment of earnings.
  • Completing year-end payroll processes and preparing relevant documentation, including P60s and P11Ds.
  • Handling pension deductions, with exposure to public-sector pension schemes beneficial.
  • Keeping customers informed of relevant HMRC legislation and payroll requirements.
  • Investigating and responding to payroll queries from employees, customers and HMRC.
  • Building effective relationships with contacts at different levels within customer organisations.
  • Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to make payroll administration more efficient.
  • Supporting the implementation of new customers, including assisting with parallel payroll runs.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a consistently high standard of payroll service.

About the Successful Applicant
You will have previous payroll bureau experience, managing payrolls for a portfolio of SME clients and working across weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll cycles. You will have a strong understanding of PAYE, pensions, benefits and RTI, together with payroll software experience. Highly accurate and organised, you will be confident managing multiple client deadlines, handling confidential information and building strong relationships while resolving payroll queries effectively.
