About the Job
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to take ownership of a varied employee relations caseload. Working closely with managers and senior stakeholders, you will provide pragmatic HR guidance, helping leaders manage people matters effectively while ensuring decisions remain consistent with employment law, internal procedures and HR best practice.
Duties will include:
- Managing a broad portfolio of complex employee relations cases from initial advice through to resolution.
- Coaching and advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability and absence matters.
- Supporting the effective resolution of workplace disputes and sensitive employee issues.
- Providing clear, practical and solutions-focused guidance to managers and senior leaders.
- Ensuring employee relations decisions are consistent with current employment legislation and internal HR procedures.
- Working closely with colleagues across HR to provide a responsive and high-quality people service.
- Developing trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and supporting a positive employee experience.
- Contributing to the consistent application and ongoing improvement of HR practices.
About the Successful Applicant
You will have strong HR advisory experience with demonstrable expertise in employee relations and managing complex cases. You will be confident interpreting employment legislation and applying HR policies, with excellent communication, judgement and stakeholder management skills. Experience within local government, the wider public sector, education, social care or another complex organisation would be advantageous. You must be able to attend the Slough office at least three days each week.
