About the Job
This position will see you take ownership of indirect tax compliance for the UK and European operations, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant processes across customs, excise, and supply chain documentation. The role involves both hands-on responsibility and advisory support to the wider business.
Duties will include:

Managing and maintaining key compliance records including supply chain documentation, issue logs and risk registers

Ensuring timely and accurate reporting on excise bond losses and month-end customs figures

Supporting the upkeep of HMRC warehouse approvals and bonded warehouse processes

Advising on and ensuring compliance in all stock movement and release activities

Reviewing and improving processes and training stakeholders to meet tax compliance standards

Monitoring and interpreting changes to indirect tax legislation such as plastic packaging tax and sugar tax

Providing ongoing updates and guidance to internal teams on legislative impacts

Regularly reviewing and updating procedure guides to reflect best practice
About the Successful Applicant
You will have extensive experience in indirect tax compliance, ideally within sectors involving bonded warehouses and excise goods. A deep understanding of customs duties and supply chain complexities is key. You will possess strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
