Salary: £18 – £22 per hour (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

About the Job:
A key opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of finance and administration across the business. This hands-on role offers exposure to both operational and strategic financial management, supporting business growth and improving internal processes.

Duties will include:

  • Managing all financial operations including sales and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, credit control, and supplier payments

  • Producing monthly management accounts, sales forecasts, and financial reporting for the Director

  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting year-end processes alongside external accountants

  • Running payroll via Xero, including pension submissions and PAYE compliance

  • Overseeing subcontractor invoicing and service contracts

  • Providing HR and administrative support to the Managing Director

  • Supporting budget development and cost management

  • Maintaining organised digital financial records using SharePoint

  • Offering general office support, customer liaison, and scheduling software maintenance

  • Attending management meetings and assisting with office cover as needed


About the Successful Applicant:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a varied finance role, preferably within a fast-paced SME environment. Strong knowledge of Xero, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow management are essential. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are key. HR experience is desirable but not essential.
