About the Client
Wade Macdonald is working with a growing organisation operating within the Engineering sector, delivering complex projects for customers across a range of industries. As the business continues to expand, they are investing in their finance function to support increasing project activity and larger contract values.

About the Job
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to join a collaborative finance team and develop specialist experience in project and contract accounting. Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will support the financial management of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, project costing, reporting and month-end accounting across a diverse portfolio.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing monthly project revenue calculations in line with percentage completion accounting.
  • Maintaining work in progress (WIP), accrued income, deferred income and contract accounting schedules.
  • Assisting with project cost accounting, including accruals, subcontractor costs and period-end adjustments.
  • Posting journals and completing reconciliations for project-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Supporting the month-end close process by preparing financial analysis and reporting.
  • Producing project performance reports, including profitability and cost analysis.
  • Raising customer invoices following commercial approval and processing amendments where required.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of project and general ledger balances.

About the Successful Applicant
You will have previous experience working within a finance team and be in the early stages of studying towards an ACCA or CIMA qualification. You will have a good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals accounting and balance sheet reconciliations, along with strong Excel skills. Experience of working with ERP systems would be advantageous. You will be organised, analytical and collaborative, with the confidence to communicate effectively across the organisation and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Receive in Return
The company offers a healthcare package, flexible hybrid working, and ongoing training and development opportunities. You will also be joining a supportive team environment with genuine opportunities for long-term progression.
