Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + bonus + benefits

About the Job
This is a key leadership role within the finance team, responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable function and managing a team of AP professionals. The position will play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, maintaining compliance, and building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Duties will include:

Leading, mentoring, and developing the accounts payable team

Managing supplier communications and maintaining accurate master data

Ensuring efficient processing of invoices through OCR and workflow systems

Coordinating weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring tax compliance

Preparing internal and external AP-related reports

Acting as the main point of contact for internal departments and suppliers

Strengthening internal controls, risk management, and compliance processes

Driving efficiencies through ongoing process improvement initiatives

Supporting integration of new systems and acquisitions through ad hoc projects
About the Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading an AP team, preferably in a fast-paced environment, with a strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles. Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, alongside advanced Excel skills, is required. A confident communicator with a collaborative leadership style, they will demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and strong organisational skills.
