About the Job

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team in Wokingham. This role will play a key part in supporting accounts payable activities across the UK business and European procurement operations, ensuring invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Duties will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices for both stock and non-stock purchases
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing and processing weekly payment runs across multiple currencies
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining supplier records
  • Managing supplier queries and escalating pricing discrepancies where required
  • Monitoring goods received not invoiced reports
  • Posting manual and ad hoc supplier payments
  • Assisting with bank reconciliation queries relating to accounts payable
  • Processing commission and debit transactions
  • Ensuring supplier bank detail changes follow strict compliance procedures
  • Supporting strong supplier relationships through effective communication
  • Maintaining accurate financial records in line with internal controls and procedures

About the Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have previous accounts payable experience within a fast-paced finance environment and be confident using ERP systems. Intermediate Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and an organised approach are essential. You will be a proactive team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
