Commercial Modelling Analyst – Reading – £45,000 - £55,000

About the Client

Our client is a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. They offer a supportive and forward-thinking environment where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop professionally, and make a genuine impact on the business.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical and highly Excel-savvy professional to join a commercially focused team in a role centred around financial and operational modelling.

The position would suit someone who enjoys building complex models, analysing data, and supporting strategic business decisions, rather than traditional finance tasks such as month-end or management accounts.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to develop robust models that support tenders, commercial projects, business planning, and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining advanced Excel-based models
  • Developing scenario analysis and forecasting tools
  • Supporting commercial decision-making with clear data insights
  • Improving modelling processes and reporting frameworks
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data and models

About the Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be an advanced Excel user with a genuine passion for modelling and data analysis. Previous experience within a commercial, analytical, or modelling-focused role is essential.

You will also have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience building complex Excel models from scratch
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach

This role is not suited to someone looking for a traditional accounting pathway or study support, as the focus is firmly on modelling and commercial analysis rather than month-end finance activities.

What You Will Receive in Return

  • Hybrid working
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • Death in Service benefit
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment
  • The opportunity to work on commercially impactful projects within a growing organisation
