This high-impact role reports to the Head of FP&A and is integral to providing accurate, meaningful financial insights that drive operational performance and business growth. Acting as a key business partner, the Management Accountant will take full ownership of month-end processes and play a crucial role in analysis, reporting, and decision support.
Duties will include:
- Leading the month-end close, including preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing key balance sheet items such as deferred income and contract-related accruals
- Supporting revenue recognition and analysis across multiple payer types
- Producing performance reports including KPIs related to utilisation and productivity
- Delivering financial insight and variance analysis to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
- Acting as a finance partner to operational teams, providing guidance and challenge
- Conducting cost and margin analysis by service line, identifying areas for efficiency
- Reviewing and monitoring payroll costs, including agency usage and related accruals
- Managing weekly cashflow forecasts, highlighting variances and working capital shifts
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes with operational input
- Assisting with fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure tracking
- Preparing audit documentation and supporting compliance activities
- Maintaining finance procedures and documentation in line with control requirements
- Contributing to continuous process improvement and finance systems development
- Supporting ad-hoc projects and analysis as required by the Head of FP&A
About the Successful Applicant
You will be a Newly Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), with at least three years’ experience in a hands-on accounting role. A confident communicator with strong Excel skills, you’ll be comfortable interrogating data and turning numbers into actionable insight. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar systems is a plus, as is a background in healthcare or other operationally complex sectors
