About the Client

Our client is an established organisation within the logistics sector, with five companies across the group. Their team values collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement, offering an opportunity to take responsibility for payroll while developing your experience across HR operations.

About the Job

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will manage payroll across the group, making up approximately 60 to 70% of your role. Alongside this, you will support daily HR operations and help improve the systems and processes that keep the function running smoothly.

Duties will include:

  • Managing monthly payroll across five companies, processing starters, leavers, overtime, bonuses and deductions.
  • Completing HMRC submissions, year end reporting and pension administration.
  • Answering payroll queries and ensuring employee records remain accurate.
  • Preparing contracts, employment letters and documentation for changes to terms.
  • Coordinating employee onboarding and leaver administration.
  • Responding to enquiries about holidays, benefits and HR processes.
  • Maintaining HR systems, tracking absence and producing reports.
  • Supporting integration between payroll and HR systems and improving administrative processes.

About the Successful Applicant

You will bring at least five years’ experience managing payroll from start to finish, ideally across multiple companies, alongside strong HR administration skills. Confident with HMRC reporting, statutory payments, pensions and Excel, you will be organised, approachable and accurate. HR system experience is essential, with BambooHR or PayFit advantageous. A full UK driving licence and the ability to attend Colnbrook when required are also needed.

What You Will Receive in Return

You will receive a salary of £38,000 to £44,000, alongside 25 days’ holiday, healthcare, an Employee Assistance Programme, a cycle to work scheme and free parking. Following probation, you can work from home two days each week. There is also scope to broaden your HR knowledge, with potential CIPD study support.
