About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified accountant to join a growing finance team in a varied role focused on management accounting, financial control, and reporting. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will help ensure the accuracy of financial information, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to continuous improvements across the finance function.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with month-end and quarter-end reporting to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of financial records.
  • Supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of financial controls, including documentation of key processes.
  • Producing debt analysis reports, aged debtor information, and calculating provisions where appropriate.
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts, monitoring actual performance, and identifying potential financial risks and opportunities.
  • Completing analytical reviews of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for group reporting purposes.
  • Supporting the external audit process by coordinating information requests, responding to audit queries, and working with colleagues across the business.
  • Preparing financial information to support corporation tax and VAT reporting requirements.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior members of the finance team and providing guidance where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and relevant financial reporting standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

About You

You will be a recently qualified accountant with a solid background in management accounting and financial control. You will possess excellent attention to detail, experience working with external auditors, and the ability to build strong working relationships across finance and wider business teams. A proactive approach to improving processes and maintaining high standards of financial accuracy is essential.
