Job Title: Group Financial Controller- £100,000 - £130,000

Location: South Oxfordshire

Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting a Group Financial Controller for a rapidly growing and well-known Manufacturing company based in South Oxfordshire. 

Role Purpose:

To lead accounting operations, including transactional management, regulatory and financial reporting, and development of internal control policies and procedures for the Group. Evaluate and manage Company risk and preserve Company governance through development, implementation, review and analysis of effective controls, and review of financial ERP-dependent processes. Leading the Financial Operations and Financial Accounting Teams, you will be responsible for statutory reporting, technical accounting, working capital management, and contributing to corporate strategy and Company direction.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Financial Controls:

  • Oversee control accounts and reconcile financial data.
  • Review and validate management account journals.
  • Ensure accuracy in monthly management accounts.

Statutory & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and other tax regulations.
  • Manage the annual external audit process.
  • Prepare annual data and reports for our insurance broker.
  • Collaborate with taxation advisors to meet all taxation deadlines.
  • Review and approve quarterly VAT returns.
  • Prepare annual R&D tax claim submissions.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Monthly hedge management.
  • Monitor and manage FX exposure through intergroup transfers.
  • Assess and mitigate interest rate risks in collaboration with lenders.
  • Prepare and submit monthly management information to lenders.
  • Manage debt and interest payments effectively.

Payroll:

  • Review and approve monthly payroll.
  • Oversee payroll-related reporting to employees, including P60s and P11Ds.
  • Manage all reporting and payments to HMRC associated with payroll.

Direct Reports:

  • Lead and mentor a team.

Skills and attributes:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA, 6+ years PQE
  • Detailed knowledge of technical accounting matters and complex transactions
  • Analytical mindset
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong communicator of financial information to non-finance colleagues
  • Strategic and forward-looking
  • ERP management or development desired
  • Experience managing a diverse and high-performing team under pressure
  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing company is highly beneficial

Salary

£90,000 - £130,000 plus bonus and benefits
