Accounts Payable Assistant - Part Time
Location: Reading - Hybrid
Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 FTC

About the Job:
This hybrid role supports the full accounts payable cycle and employee expense processing, while also offering exposure to payroll-related tasks and wider finance operations. You’ll be integral in ensuring compliance, maintaining supplier and employee data, and contributing to process improvements across the finance function. The role offers up to 28 hours a week and can be split over 4 or 5 days.

Duties will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and ensuring alignment with company policies
  • Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate records including VAT and bank details
  • Preparing AP accruals and monthly account reconciliations
  • Managing payment runs including uploading files to the bank
  • Handling employee expense reports and enforcing reimbursement policies
  • Acting as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits queries
  • Submitting and reconciling payroll data with the local payroll provider
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities
  • Contributing to internal controls and documentation of procedures

About the Successful Applicant:
You will be highly organised and detail-focused, with a solid grounding in accounts payable and basic payroll principles. Ideally, you’ll have 1–2 years of relevant experience in transactional finance and a qualification in finance or business. Proficiency in Excel and the wider MS Office suite is essential, alongside strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.
