My client, a long-established, Global Scientific Research company in Abingdon are seeking a Sales Ledger Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role would suit a candidate who is studying AAT or CICM and looking to gain further experience in Accountancy within a Global organisation.

To be successful you will need to be a confident communicator, showing enthusiasm for learning new Finance systems and processes. Crucially you must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how a Sales Ledger function works.

Duties Include:

  • Creating and maintaining customer accounts

  • Producing & sending Invoices/Statements

  • Posting daily cash receipts

  • Reconciling cash receipts to bank Accounts

  • Chasing outstanding debts from clients by phone and email

  • Preparation of data for monthly VAT reporting

  • Uploading Sales invoices onto various online portals for payment

The Candidate:

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills

  • Outgoing, engaging personality and the ability to work with speed and accuracy

  • Enjoy working on own initiative and as part of a team to deliver results

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Ability to build strong relationships and partner with the business

  • Must be well organised and able to work to tight deadlines in multiple currencies

  • A drive and ambition for continuous personal improvement

  • Consistently delivering the highest levels of performance

  • Knowledge of Sage and good Excel ability is beneficial
