Job description

Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager for a global health care and life science company based in Derby, Derbyshire.

The role

The Payroll Manager will report into the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for supporting and leading the payroll solutions in alignment with the business strategies of assigned business groups and locations within their assigned geographical area.

You will be required to make impactful and moderately complex decisions independently, responding to complex issues and questions, interpreting policies and procedures and applying these to real life situations.

Also responsible for independently addressing more complicated and impactful payroll issues and implementing solutions or initiatives. Applies judgement and critical thinking and as a result knows when to engage Senior Finance Leaders or other stakeholder (HR, Compensation and Benefits, Line Manager) to aid in resolving a complex or sensitive issue.

Tactical focus will be on team management and talent development, payroll reporting and KPI reporting.

Job requirements

The successful Payroll Manager will hold a formal Payroll Management Qualification ideally with understanding and experience of Public Sector Payroll - preferably NHS / AFC Contracts.

You will have demonstrable Payroll Project Management Experience - system and process implementation, payroll onboarding, TUPE etc.

Understanding and experience of TUPE transitions and impact on payroll and payroll systems.

Payroll Systems configuration and Data Reporting experience.

Management of Pension Administration within payroll function. Up to date UK & Irish Payroll legislative knowledge.

Leadership/people Management experience is essential as is the adaptability, resilience & persistence with a keen desire to support change & drive improvement.

Salary - competitive salary with car allowance and bonus

Location - Derby, Derbyshire hybrid working 2-3 days a week in the office.
