Our client is a well-establish automotive business, looking for a IT Infrastructure Specialist to join their Slough based team on the permanent basis.
In this role, you will be a part of a highly motivated and service-focussed Infrastructure Team, responsible for provision of IT infrastructure services and working closely with the third party infrastructure suppliers.
Contribute to the IT strategy, architectural direction and infrastructure roadmaps
Provide second line support for infrastructure related incidents
Build and maintain excellent operational relationships with 3rd party IT suppliers
Help IT team to identify and resolve any underlying problems
Ensure efficient and effective systems monitoring, server performance, applications availability and
IT security analysis and protection, including regular penetration testing, web security management and patch updates across the estate
Oversee any batch/scheduled jobs, automating these where possible and ensuring these complete successfully with appropriate processes
Provide server performance monitoring, backup and point-in-time restore, and infrastructure trouble-shooting
Work with the IT Management to create and update environments in support of application changes.
Support the IT team in defining, implementing and continuously improving ITIL processes.
At least 3 years of practical working knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations, as well as experience of server, network and database management
ITIL Foundation qualified
Microsoft Windows operating systems installation and configuration
Good understanding of relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, SQL scripting and stored procedures.
Understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
Basic understanding of network topologies and technologies including firewall, proxy/reverse proxy, security services
Web technologies including html, XML, IIS, Jboss, Java
Scripting using Powershell.
Virtualisation technologies including VMWare
