A large and prestigious organisation

 

The role:

This is a 9 month interim role, as Group Reporting manager responsibilities will include:

· Key point of contact for the auditors’ during both interim and year-end audits and the period leading up to them

· Support in preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts (including notes) under UK GAAP and SORP

· Prepare the annual statutory cashflow and monitor the monthly cashflow movements

· Work closely with the wider organisation to ensure audit queries are resolved in a timely manner

· Prepare accounting memos on various topics including finance leases and Pensions and papers for the audit & scrutiny committee

· Manage and coordinate the audit timetable

· Support in the calculation of quarterly adjusted surplus figure and circulate the paper to the relevant Committees

· Support the subsidiaries in accounting related matters and ensure timely filing of accounts, working closely with the ‘Subsidiary Companies Accountant’ on the change of Auditors

· Attend the balance Sheet reconciliations review meetings

· Work closely with the Head of Sustainability on reporting relevant for the Annual Report & Accounts

· Liaise with the relevant team to coordinate the front half of the Annual Report & Accounts

· Perform financial assessment of the aggregated data and calculate contributions. Participate in committee meetings as and when requested

· Coordinate with the Head of Investments and New ventures on ‘Spin out’ valuations and review process

· Follow through on all control recommendations/ disclosure deficiencies raised by the auditors’ in previous year

· Assist in the Annual Report and Accounts enhancements plan

· Contribute to the subsidiary reorganisation plan

· Provide support on other company wide audits including ‘forced migration review’ and ‘US loan compliance’ audits

· Support the Director of Financial Reporting on other ad hoc tasks as and when required

 

Who we're looking for:

· Qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent with minimum 5 years PQE

· Strong IT skills in particular Excel, with a willingness to learn new reporting tools and a sound knowledge on how financial software works and how best to use it.

· Strong teamwork skills, especially in communicating with users with a wide range of financial skills and at all levels in the organisation.

· Strong presentation skills including the ability to present financial information to non-finance professionals.

· Strong analytical skills and an intuitive mind to identify trends and errors in complex data sets.

· Experience in a large complex accounting environment with proven and demonstrable technical accounting skills, including understanding and interpreting financial policies, accounting standards in particular UK GAAP FRS102, SORP and other relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
