Job description

Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting for a Head of Finance (Europe) for a rapidly growing global £35million t/o Profesional Services firm based in Portsmouth. Our client has revolutionised the Management Consultancy space and is expected to double in size by 2025. Due to this continued growth, we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic Financial Controller / Head of Finance to manage the finance operation across Europe.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Region in Europe (UK based) and Group CFO the Head of Finance will be responsible for the European accounting functions across the 6 offices. The role will collaborate with regional leads to influence accounting and business processes and the implementation and adherence to global accounting policies.

You will manage a small team locally and individuals based overseas so you should demonstrate strong management and leadership abilities

You will be a part of a high-performing and thriving global finance team located in 24 countries all over the world.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring a high quality of accounting output for annual financial statements and monthly management reports for use by internal stakeholders, which include departmental heads, Group finance department in Sweden and senior business leaders.
  • Providing assurance to support the accuracy and completeness of results in accordance with global directives, internal policies, and local GAAP`s, as applicable
  • Collaborating with local office leadership to solve local business issues.
  • Collaborating with the Group finance department in Sweden in implementing new standards/processes/models and act as a project manager for the European offices during the planning and execution.
  • Engaging with external accounting and tax advisors to enhance the Controllership team's international accounting operating model and management of their European statutory and tax compliance requirements.
  • Supervising and actively participating in the development of finance team members, providing coaching and assisting in elevating the capabilities of direct reports and the Finance team.

What we're looking for

This is a technical accounting role that would be well suited to a candidate who possesses a solid understanding of working to IFRS standards and regular financial reporting. The role would be particularly well suited to a candidate who has qualified (ACA, ACCA) within a large accounting practice and understands corporate accounting and statutory reporting. Ideally you will have experience within a growing Management Consultancy / Professional services company with previous experience of Xero and Salesforce highly beneficial.

The breadth of scope and specialism of this opportunity however, go well beyond financial accounting and a candidate with genuine commercial acumen will enjoy collating regular management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, financial modelling, and analysis. As such, we're looking for a highly competent finance professional who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and really get into with the day-to-day as well as overall finance strategy.

Salary £65,000 - £85,000 plus 12 % Bonus plus Benefits

Hybrid working 3 days a week in the office in Portsmouth, Hampshire
