Financial Controller - Oxford - £70,000 + 15% bonus - Hybrid Working
The Company
The role of Financial Controller sits within this fast growth SME within Life Sciences. The Company has experienced impressive growth over the last few years and have further plans in relation to acquisitions in the near future.
The Role
The role of Financial Controller is newly created and will take ownership of the Company finance function from a technical perspective but will also offer the opportunity to business partner and develop commercial finance exposure, as it will involve FP&A, so will suit a technically minded candidate looking to develop commercial finance skills and real-world commercial business exposure.
Key role functions:
Key to the role is taking ownership, responsibility and accountability for all aspects relating to the accuracy, completeness and integrity of financial reporting, both externally and internally. The FC will build management performance reporting and cashflow planning systems to give assurance to all stakeholders of financial reporting integrity, company stability and control.
Responsible for managing, coaching and developing the finance assistant, the FC will assess resource requirements and add new team members and software solutions, where appropriate. In particular lead in the implementation of new FP&A software.
Finance Business Partnering to senior stakeholders
Responsible for monitoring of working capital, cash flows, banking relationships, foreign currency exposure and producing timely periodic consolidated management and statutory accounts to IFRS standards, budgets, forecasts, board finance reports, departmental cost centre reports and KPIs.
Responsible for reporting and tax compliance in the UK and foreign jurisdictions, working with local advisers to meet deadlines and oversee tax and accounting filings in multiple jurisdictions.
A key requirement will be to transition the finance department towards internal control and reporting standards expected by regulatory authorities. Working closely with external advisers and company auditors to apply robust technical accounting guidance in representing the company's transactions.
