Finance Assistant - Up to £24,000 depending on experience - Central Oxford

The role

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the role of the Finance Assistant you will be responsible for providing a high level of finance assistance to stakeholders and maintaining the accuracy of accounting and payroll systems.

Duties will include:

  • Accurate and timely reporting of income
  • Allocation of donations
  • Maintaining the daily emails to the accounts inbox
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Weekly banking of cash and cheques
  • Entering invoices and dealing with queries and anomalies
  • Issuing monthly credit card statements and dealing with expenses
  • Work with management on month-end duties including journals and pre-payments
  • Payroll duties including checking timesheets and inputting payroll data
  • Any other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required by the department including dealing with post, scanning documents, maintaining records and extracting data for reporting

What you'll need to be successful

  • Ideally AAT qualified or with previous experience in a similar, varied role, able to hit the ground running
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work very accurately
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • A keen problem solver who is looking to work well within a team to support company goals and deadline
