The Company:

A market leading FTS50 company are looking to add a Data Architect to their digital team to help revolutionise the way the company works, and how they can use their vast amounts of data to derive insights and differentiate themselves from the rest of the market. After a very strong year of increased size and profitability, they are making major adjustments to their digital arm of the business, and the first priority is to blueprint their use of data from an architectural level. With over £10.5 billion in owned assets, they are a multinational company split across 40% in the UK and 60% across 11 sites in 7 European countries.
You will have the chance to travel across these sites, and work with industry heavyweights such as Amazon and DPD to name just a few of their household named clients.

Role & Responsibility:

  • To define and continuously improve the business-wide technical blueprint of how they manage their rich data sources, including how that data is collected, stored and utilised

  • To create usable data models which describe data entries, their attributed and their relationships with each other

  • To act as the main knowledge specialist for data, supporting cross functional teams and various architectural colleagues.

  • Liaise withy other business teams, to gather requirements and issues to deliver data driven projects

  • To advise and support any projects regarding data matters

Key Skills & Experiences:


  • Have proven experience developing data architectures in a commercial environment - ideally 5-7 years' experience

  • Have experience producing conceptual, logic & physical data models

  • Knowledge of working with OS, databases and BI tools

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of data storage (data warehousing, data lakes, data marts & ETL/ELT)

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of data integration (including API's and ODBC)

  • Proven experience of working in both agile and waterfall methodologies

Current Tech stack:

If you have experience with any of the following technologies it would be highly advantageous:

  • Main OS - MRI, Argus Enterprise and Argus Developer

  • Integration - Informatica iPaaS

  • Data warehousing - Azure Blob, SQL & Cosmos

  • BI - Qlikview

  • Data Science Python Stack
