My client is a long-established Financial Services company based near Slough with multiple sites across the UK & Europe.
They are currently seeking an experienced Credit Underwriting Specialist to join their large Finance team on an initial temporary contract basis.
If you have over 2 years' experience in an underwriting or credit analyst position in financial services I want to hear from you. Particularly if you have practical experience with scorecard design and testing in the Automotive or consumer Finance industry.
My client is offering a fantastic salary with many perks and benefits and the chance to earn a Permanent contract. They also have on-site parking.
Duties include:
Undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis; to review metrics/financial ratios and supporting information and present guidance notes and results of each proposal
Manually underwriting all Services in accordance with credit policy rules, portfolio quality and service level adherence targets
Ensure Underwriting work queues are reviewed in accordance with agreed work queue status review targets
Self manages own work queue
Answers inbound enquiry calls in accordance with targets
Answers inbound Payout and Activation enquiry calls as required
Ensures Manager is aware of potential issues associated with proposal backlog
Undertake testing and tuning of scorecards
Meet individual telephone statistic goals
Adhere to formal regulatory processes and policies
Participate in tuning of any predictive risk modelling
Review SLA adherence and performance reports
The Candidate:
Thorough understanding of underwriting and credit practices and procedures
Be Confident in making credit decisions and takes ownership of individual proposals
Ability to operate a credit decision and work-flow system (Training provided).
Able to analyse and flag non-apparent relationships between data and information
Understand financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow)
Able to interpret CRA and HPI reports, extracting non apparent information when making lending decisions
Good documentation, writing and speaking skills; the ability to effectively present decisions to a variety of stakeholders
Good problem solving, communication, and organisational skills
Experience in using Genus and strong Excel skills
