My client is an established and growing business based near Newbury. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting time to be joining the business as they are experiencing year on year growth. The Credit Controller will be in sole charge of the Sales Ledger, forming an intrinsic part of the Finance function and reporting directly to the Finance Director.

You will hold full responsibility for the Sales Ledger overseeing Credit Collections, analysis, reporting, billing and Cash allocation duties. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with experience in an SME Finance environment, ensuring accurate cash flow forecasting and hold overall responsibility for driving down DSO through effective and streamlined cash collection processes.

Responsibilities :

  • To ensure that all Credit Control processes and cash flow forecasts are fully documented and regularly maintained.

  • Managing the timely collection of all debts in accordance with agreed Credit/Payment terms

  • Oversee review and if necessary, recommend updates to the Credit Control policy

  • Deal with escalated billing queries or disputes

  • To be responsible for issuing appropriate stop processes

  • Timely and effective liaison with debtors regarding all aspects of credit limit requirements.

  • Highlight and recommend changes to Credit Limits with the Finance Director as/when required.

  • Assisting the Credit Manager with insolvency cases and escalation of action including debt recovery and bad debt write offs

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Credit Controller +2 years

  • Previous experience in a sole-charge capacity

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written at all levels within the business

  • Proactive and inquisitive approach to debt recovery

  • Able to remain calm and influential in challenging situations

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong Credit Control Administration skills

  • Ability to prioritise and plan your workload and lead by example

  • An advanced level of understanding and use of Excel
