Commercial Finance Analyst

Reading, up to £28,000, hybrid working

The company

Opportunity to work for an incredible organisation with an enviable reputation from the people they support as well as within the community. The role will support the UK Commercial Finance Lead and the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst in providing financial and commercial support and advice to business areas.

The role

  • Preparation of annual budget and reforecasts to ensure income and expenditure is profiled correctly
  • Produce monthly reporting packs and liaising with budget holders to highlight key risks and mitigating actions to stakeholders
  • Reviewing the monthly Management Accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Preparing detailed monthly management accounts to compare actual performance against budget
  • Ensuring correct balances for deferred and accrued income
  • Regular liaison with the Financial Accounting team to ensure the correct balance sheet position is shown in the accounts, investigating any discrepancies
  • Ensuring invoices are prepared and all recoverable costs are billed in a timely manner
  • Assisting in year-end audit preparations
  • Producing ad hoc financial reports

What you will need to be successful

The ideal person will have a thorough understanding of accounting concepts, be AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA) with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • AAT Qualified or studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience of a financial role building relations and support non-finance professionals
  • Experience of preparing budgets and management accounts for business units and being proactive in identifying concerning areas
  • Good IT knowledge including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders
