Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an established and growing business based in Wokingham. This role will suit someone who has a strong background in finance (qualified by experience) or actively studying towards an accounting qualification.
About the role - key responsibilities:
The Assistant Accountant will support the day to day running of the Finance Department and liaise with both internal staff and external clients. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and keen ambition.
- Production of month end accounts, (posting of journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Maintaining fixed asset records
- Month end reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Production of various analytical reports
- Assisting in the fortnightly payroll process
- Maintaining nominal ledger codes and systems set up
- Responsibility and management of the company fleet
- Playing a key part in projects to help develop the development of the business
- Ad-hoc reporting to support other departments throughout the business
- Managing the Accounts Assistant and Administrator, who are responsible for:
- Invoicing 400+ customers a month
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Processing purchase ledger invoices
- Processing and paying expense claims
- Setting up new customers
What you will need to be successful:
- 3 years' experience working in accounts
- A solid understanding of the production of management accounts
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Very good organisation and administration skills and the ability to follow finance processes
- Strong mathematics skills
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to access, input and compile analytical data
- Experience of Sage 50 Accounts
