Assistant Accountant, £30,000 - £35,000

Wade Macdonald is currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an established business based in Reading. This role will suit someone who is studying (ideally part-qualified) and will be working with the Financial Controller to ensure the finance department has all-round coverage and assisting with the Management accounts

About the role - key responsibilities:

The Assistant Accountant will support the day to day running of the Finance Department and liaise with both internal staff and external clients. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and keen ambition.

  • Aid in installation of Sage 200 and perform Sage 200 month end procedures
  • Assist with producing the Management accounts
  • Be the contact for auditors
  • VAT & CIS Return
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist and cover for the Financial Controller and Accounts Supervisor in their absence
  • Any ad hoc duties as instructed

What you will need to be successful:

  • Part-Qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Sage 200 experience would be highly advantageous
  • Previous Account's knowledge and experience
  • Ability to organise and management time effectively
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
