Assistant Accountant - FTC - 12 months - Witney, Oxfordshire - £32 000 - £35 000
Our Client:
My client is a manufacturer of safety equipment, based in Witney and is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their busy Team.
The Role:
The Assistant Accountant is a Fixed term role for 12 months. The role is assisting the Management Accountant to deliver management information for the group. The duties include:
- Prepare accurate reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements
- Responsible for International entities, such as closing ledgers, ensuring accuracy of stock, invoices & payments, employee expenses, etc.
- Margin and costing analysis
- Provide support/assistance to Management Accountant
- Purchase Ledger transnational processing (payments, purchase invoices, suppliers statements, new accounts set-up, etc)
- Working with the accounts team to ensure financial reports are analysed and delivered on time
- Developing and managing financial systems and policies, and ensuring that they are continuously improved
- Provide assistance to UK Purchase Ledger (where required)
- Processing of expenses
- Process agents commission invoices and prepare for payment
- Liaise with the bank for transaction investigations
- Assist with audit preparations
About you:
- At least 3 years previous experience working in a financial environment (ideally within the manufacturing sector)
- A background in Treasury is advantageous
- Part CIMA or ACCA qualification desirable
- The successful candidate will have experience across the full ERP process. Experience with Sage Enterprise Management (X3)
- Experience of designing, implementing and managing finance processes and policies
- Strong analytical and numerical skills demonstrating an ability to identify and react to emerging issues
