Assistant Accountant (6 months FTC) - Woking - £27,000 - £30,000 per annum

The company

A well-established business based in Woking, with their financial year-end approaching in June this business have an urgent requirement for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their busy finance team. Due to Covid-19 this business will be conducting interviews via video conferencing, if successful you will be provided with a laptop and initially work from home.

The role

This supportive business are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly dynamic team. Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for managing a variety of finance tasks and assisting with the financial year-end accounting. The duties of the Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Management and maintenance of the fixed assets register
  • Assisting with financial reporting
  • Resolution of internal and external finance queries
  • Processing of intercompany transactions
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Assisting with Year-end accounting
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested by the senior finance business partner

What you'll need to be successful

With experience already gained and having already worked in a similar role you will have experience in the above duties. Working in a team you will need to have:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar finance experience
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (v look ups & pivot tables)
  • A willingness to learn and take extra responsibilities
  • SAP knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
