Accounts Assistant - Reading - £25,000 - £27,000 per annum

The company

A well-established business based in Reading, this outstanding business have an urgent requirement for an Accounts Assistant to join their busy dynamic team.

The role

This supportive business is looking for an Accounts Assistant to manage a range of transactional finance duties. Reporting into the Accounts Supervisor your duties would include:

  • Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices
  • Approval of sales invoices
  • Processing of sales invoices
  • Chasing of missing purchase invoices
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Resolution of internal and external supplier queries
  • Management of a weekly payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Weekly financial reporting

What you'll need to be successful

With experience already gained and having already worked in a similar role you will have experience in the above duties. Working in a team you will need to have:

  • Previous Accounts Assistant experience or previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (v look ups & pivot tables)
  • A willingness to learn and take extra responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting system would be advantageous but not essential
