Accounts Assistant

c£30,000 - £35,000, Beaconsfield, hybrid-working, study support

We are partnering with a growing, fast-moving, and well-established company in their sector who are now seeking an Accounts Assistant, this role will be supporting the Finance team in addition to handling daily payroll related operations. The individual will be liaising with other departments, communicating directly with clients and there will be lots of opportunity to be involved with other accounting and analysis activity, month-end reporting, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and an excellent opportunity to ensure personal growth and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

This role would suit an individual who is studying or seeking to study an accounting qualification, who is seeking to work in a fast-paced environment, with good attention for detail and team working mentality.

  • Uploading payroll related invoices into the ERP

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate allocation of Client payroll and other receipts against the applicable customer account and arranging for subsequent payment, via BACS or International transfer, to our client's employees and the relevant tax authorities and unions

  • Processing supplier invoices, and supporting the Accountant to ensure that payment to tax authorities accurate

  • Maintaining reconciliation of various control accounts (including bank and payroll)

  • Preparation of sales invoices for other services

  • Multi-currency reconciliations

  • Working closely with the payroll, sales, and pensions departments to ensure the smooth operation of customer invoicing and reports

  • Communicating with clients regarding invoice related queries

  • Interaction with the wider finance team and exposure to group and company auditors

The Successful Candidate:

  • Experience with large enterprise financial systems and business intelligence tools (ideally Oracle and Sage)

  • Good skills with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, and data manipulation)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal departments in addition to external clients

  • Good problem-solving skills, be a self-starter
