Accountant - (Full time or reduced hours) - Basingstoke - hybrid-working - £180 - £200 per day temp - perm

Wade Macdonald are currently partnering with a unique organisation that operates across multiple niche revenue streams and boasts an impressive brand name. My client is looking for a "hands on" Accountant to oversee the finance function, reporting directly to the business owners. A reduced working week of 30 hours is also an option.

As the Accountant, you will be commercially focused and highly competent in dealing with all financial reporting requirements and statutory filing requirements of a business.

About the role - key responsibilities:

In this role, you will be reporting directly to the business owners, assisting with key business decisions

      • Overall responsibility of the finance function

      • Preparing the financial statements

      • Ownership of the general ledger

      • Preparing the management accounts

      • Managing/reviewing all fiscal compliance including PAYE, VAT etc.

      • Oversight of statutory financial requirements including Companies House

      • Reviewing payroll

      • Budgeting and forecasting

      • Balance sheet reconciliations

      • Project analysis

      • Review and decide upon key tenders for financial contracts and service providers.

      • Direct liaison for key contacts including financial accountants, solicitors, banks and other business advisors.

      • Maintain an ethos of continuous improvement

What you will need to be successful:

  • QBE or qualified (AAT, CIMA or ACCA)

  • Previous experience of dealing with owner managed SME's

  • Experience of managing/overseeing the finance function including the preparation of the management accounts

  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge
