Senior / Payroll Specialist - Amersham (Hybrid working) - £32,000 - £38,000 (DOE)

Wade Macdonald are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist (or Senior Payroll Specialist) to join one of our prominent clients, that is widely recognized in the retail sector. As part of our commitment to supporting our client's recruitment needs, we are working closely with them to identify a talented individual for what is a crucial role within their organization.

As Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the preparation and processing of hourly and salaried payrolls, overseeing tasks such as onboarding, departures, and adjustments. Handling ad-hoc and third-party payments, including court orders and bonuses
  • Administering the payroll system, which involves creating pay elements, managing tax calendars, and implementing structural and parameter changes within a Cloud-based solution
  • Contributing to the generation of analytical and payroll reports in the cloud-based system, sharing essential KPI reports with other teams
  • Ensuring the timely completion and distribution of monthly payroll reconciliations to the Finance team
  • Assisting in the administration of the company pension scheme auto-enrollment processes
  • Providing support to the Payroll and Benefits Manager by delivering training and effectively communicating payroll tasks and activities to stores or Line Managers

Working for this highly regarded organisation, the ideal Senior Payroll Specialist will bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including several years' experience of managing multiple payrolls
  • Strong understanding of current payroll legislation
  • Experience in a retail or hospitality environment with multiple sites is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience in processing and managing salary sacrifice and third-party payments
  • Familiarity with web-based Payroll and HRIS solutions
  • Tech-savvy with excellent Excel skills, demonstrating the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret numerical information, including proficiency in the use of VLOOKUP.
