Head of HR, Berkshire, £60,000-£70,000 (hybrid working)

This is a super opportunity to join an impressive Charity as they look to enhance their people offering, consolidate what is in place and then plan for the future.

CIPD 7 qualified, this role is a blend of both operational and strategic. It is a highly critical role in the organisation and as such needs someone with leadership skills, an ability to communicate effectively and someone very much aligned with their values.

What would you do in this role?

  • Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Champion core values and culture
  • Work at both a hands on and strategic level
  • Implement projects
  • Deal with ER issues, although these are limited
  • Talent strategy
  • Implement initiatives and build an inclusive culture
  • Coach and mentor including learning and development
  • Review Compensation and Benefits
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Management of the people budget
  •
  • Support two additional HR professionals in the team covering their work when required.

What experience do you need?

  • CIPD qualified level 7
  • Generalist HR experience
  • Background and experience of implementing a career pathway
  • A background of working in HR at a similar level and with employee management
  • An ability to take ownership
  • Experience of working and being able to communicate effectively with both SLT and non management across the organisation
  • Experience of working in a leadership role previously

What about you – what kind of person would suit this?

  • Flexibility – this role needs someone able to be both strategic but also do some admin when needed so a “roll up your sleeves” and get stuck in attitude.
  • Value people, this is an organisation that does not have a hire and fire attitude they want someone people centric who is inspiring, inclusive and see people as the true value of an organisation.

Why would you want to work with this organisation?

Wouldn’t it be great to give back to your community and work for a worthwhile cause.

This is a truly inclusive culture, no politics no games just people all working to make the community better. The benefits include 26 days annual leave, EAP program, agile working, working in the office a minimum of 1 day per week, pension and the list goes on.

There may be more in the future and that would very much be up to you to introduce and plan but with the caveat that this is a charitable organisation and the budget needs to carefully managed.
