Head of Finance, Slough, Hybrid, £50,000 - £55,000
My client, an Academy is looking for a Head of Finance to work with the School Business Manager on the integrity of the finance function and report accurate results to the trustees.
What will your responsibilities in the role be?
- Manage school finances and extended facilities in accordance with Academies Financial Handbook, oversee payroll and pension functions.
- Collaborate with Trustees, Principal, and senior leadership to establish school objectives, policies, and procedures, including resource planning.
- Supervise Senior Finance Assistant, including their training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements, data security, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate financial records using accruals accounting principles, oversee management accounting for capital projects.
- Support and promote the school's ethos, objectives, and policies
What experience do you need for the role?
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Evidence of management experience within a finance department of a school/academy.
- Experience of liaising with internal and external auditors
