Financial Accountant – Remote working – £35,000 - £42,000 with study support
(in the Oxfordshire office once per quarter)
 
We are currently partnered with a well-established national organisation, who are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a growing team in a company that moves at a fast pace and strives to improve day by day. The role may suit a talented individual looking to move into industry from a large accounting firm with experience in general accounting and tax or someone with consolidation and account preparation experience from industry.
 
What will be the responsibilities in this role?
 
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for leading all aspects of the portfolio’s financial compliance (apart from tax) across a growing group of companies.
 
The role will work with the wider finance team to improve the effectiveness of the reporting processes, automating where possible to drive best practice.
 
  • Financial accounting - Offer technical guidance, draft policy papers, and prepare consolidated statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Audit - Oversee both external and internal audits for the portfolio, fostering strong relationships with the audit team. Ensure timely communication of audit requests within the finance team to adhere to deadlines.
  • Tax - Collaborate closely with the tax team to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Provide support for broader tax projects as well as year-end returns.
  • Treasury - Manage banking relationships, enhance processes, and implement controls. Develop and maintain cash forecasting for the monthly cash extraction process.
  • Continuous improvement - Drive enhancements in finance systems, processes, and reporting to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
 
What experience do you need?
  • Experience within a similar role type of role
  • Part-qualified, studying towards ACCA / ACA OR qualified by experience
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with other software applications
