Tax Accountant / Business Partner – Hybrid from High Wycombe (2 days in office) – Up to £60,000
Wade Macdonald are delighted to be recruiting a Business Partner with a Tax Focus, on behalf of one of the UKs most influential business groups based near to High Wycombe.

These businesses are very engaged with the organisation and there is a two-way relationship which sees the two lean on each other for specialist guidance around Tax and Finance, in order to create the most appropriate policy positions. You do not need prior experience working in a Policy Setting.
This role would greatly suit someone that has had experience in any Tax Accounting positions that would like to be come more of a Business Partner to aid the continued success of the business group.
The Role In Summary:
You will act as a strategic business partner in driving tax and motor finance initiatives, providing a unique opportunity for ambitious tax/accounting professionals to transition into a policy-focused, business-enabling role.
Your main role will be engaging with businesses that truly want to be talking with you, and relaying their input to government agencies that could change the politic
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor the legislative and regulatory environment to be able to provide strategic insights for the impact on the groups businesses
- Collaborate with large volumes of businesses to gather input, feedback, and data to inform business-driven policy positions
- Working with colleagues, respond to consultations and calls for evidence across Tax and Finance, incorporating Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) considerations
- Cultivate relationships with senior officials in government agencies and departments to influence business strategies
- Engage closely with stakeholders across the sector, identifying business opportunities and challenges
- Commission and manage original research collaboratively with research colleagues, ensuring business relevance
- Analyze data and produce relevant insight to support business-driven policy objectives
- (The main one) Collaborate with colleagues to maximize the business impact of the organization
At a minimum you will have:
- Degree level or equivalent education
- Part OR Qualified in Accountancy (ideally experienced in taxation), or relevant fields
- Thorough knowledge of how the UK’s tax and finance system functions
- Excellent writing skills (technical and persuasive) with a focus on business communication
- Experience in using research and data to make business-driven arguments
- Demonstrate a high level of numeracy, and an ability to translate data into business insights
- Excellent communication skills in one-to-one and group situations, with a focus on partnership
- A very capable user of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
