Lead Accountant - 6 month Fixed Term contract - Basingstoke

£55k Pro Rated

This contract position sits within our client's operational accounting team where you will be driving process improvement and systems enhancements (SAP).

Main Activities and Responsibilities

    • Fixed Assets relate to authorised capital expenditure, recognised as in service at the appropriate time and accounted for according to Group accounting policies

    • GRNI balances are an accurate reflection of goods and services received not yet invoiced

    • VAT reporting and submissions are completed on an accurate, timely basis and properly accounted for

    • Intercompany accounting is completed according to the Group Intercompany Accounting Policy, with discrepancy resolution completed in line with the monthly timetable

    • Prepayments & Accruals are properly recorded and released on a timely basis

    • Accounting for Payroll related costs and liabilities is effectively and accurately reflected

    • Revaluations, Allocations, Recharges and Month End Ledger control is accurate and executed in accordance with the monthly timetable

  • Ensure that the General Ledger control environment is robust, with key controls operating and appropriately evidenced.

  • Develop the role of SAP super user and process champion in relation to the areas specific to the Operational Accounting team.


  • Qualified Accountant with 2 years PQE


  • Experience within a corporate finance team

  • Experience of a multi-entity period end close, preferably on SAP
