HR Advisor - Reading - Up to £30,000 + Benefits

Wade Macdonald are working with a local Reading school who are looking for a HR Advisor to join their team. The role will be to provide HR Generalist and Administrative support to the HR Manager and other colleagues.

Main responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Create and maintain personnel files and personnel data.

  • Maintain and update the Staff Directory (Handbook) and HR Policies and Procedures.

  • Maintain and update HR records on SIMs; including training records; absence data; etc.

  • Draft employment offers and contracts.

  • Maintain and update staff attendance records on the absence management system; produce reports; analyse data and advise line managers on appropriate actions.

  • Carry out Enhanced DBS checks using the online disclosures application system.

  • Carry out Prohibition from Management and Prohibition Orders checks.

  • Complete all other relevant safeguarding checks (as listed in the Single Central Register of Staff) before new staff commence employment, including relevant checks for Supply (Agency) workers and volunteers.

  • In liaison with the Finance team, co-ordinate the administration of employee benefits when required.

  • Liaise with the Payroll Officer with regard to payroll issues, and ensure that relevant changes to staff pay and new starter information are communicated from HR to the Payroll Officer in a timely manner.

  • Prepare job descriptions and person specifications and Interview for support staff roles when needed.

  • Manage responses to all applications and employment enquiries and update the candidate database.

To be considered for the role:

  • You will have previous experience of working in a professional HR role and will be from an Education sector.

  • In addition, you will have previous experience of recruitment and selection processes with a high level of IT literacy and previous experience of working with HR software systems.

  • This person will also have a relevant CIPD (or similar) qualifications, or working towards them.
