The role:
The Financial Control Manager will oversee daily financial and mortgage accounting processes and help manage the month end close process to ensure reporting deadlines are met. The focus of this role to be ensure deadlines are met to deliver month end reporting in a timely manner while helping develop junior members of the team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the month end close to ensure reporting deadlines are met including review and approve monthly journals, ensuring accuracy and timely posting
- Working with the Head of Financial Control to ensure all month end processes such as reconciliations, TB reviews, variance analysis and reporting are completed
- Work collaborative with other teams in finance - FP&A, Financial Reporting, Treasury Product Control to ensure reporting deadlines are met
- Manage Accounts Payable and ensure AP and Financial Accounting are a cohesive team
- Manage and motivate 3 direct reports
- Help improve financial control with improved analytical review/drill down
- Review current processes across Financial Control to identify potential improvements and automation opportunities
- Co-ordinate and be the key contact for the year-end statutory audit to ensure deadlines are met and a successful audit is achieved
- Assist our finance project and controls team to drive the change agenda across all of finance including the G/L replacement
Who we're looking for:
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years Financial Control experience within a multi company environment.
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Advanced level of Microsoft excel – experience of building and streamlining excel work files
- Team management experience Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- Financial services experience – securitisations or mortgages
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS/Oracle Fusion
- MI analysis skills
- Lean/Six Sigma re-engineering/Project Management
