Wade Macdonald is currently partnering with a highly respected, well-known logistics organisation who are established within their industry sector and have demonstrated growth in recent years, going from strength to strength. They are now looking to recruit for an Accounts Payable Manager.
Working within the finance team, this role will be responsible for managing the AP function, this will include overseeing all related processes and being primary point of contact for any queries.  
What will be the responsibilities in this role?
  • Leading and managing a team of accounts payable specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Overseeing the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other payables by your team.
  • Implementing and maintaining accounts payable policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, exceptions, and issues in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing and reconciling accounts payable ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to resolve payment-related inquiries and building strong relationships.
  • Participating in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of relevant reports and analysis.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and training to accounts payable staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
What experience do you need?
  • Proven experience in accounts payable, with a background in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and financial regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage high volumes of transactions accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Leadership abilities to motivate, guide, and develop team members.
