Fresh Faces - Zoe Jones

Back to Blogs

The second blog in the series 'fresh faces' is based on Zoe, one of our Credit Control consultants. Our Marketing Coordinator Issi, sat Zoe down for a quick chat about her time so far with Wade Macdonald..

Why did you join?

I worked in Dental nursing for years and just wanted to do something completely different that would challenge me. The idea of finding people new careers was something I liked because through my years in dental nursing, it was agencies that placed me and I worked for some really great companies.

What were your expectations before you started? How have they changed now?

Because it’s my first time in recruitment I had no idea what to expect really. I assumed it would be really easy going but I did worry about starting in the office as I’ve never actually worked within an office environment.

I can honestly say though, everyone is so lovely and supportive. All the worries I had have vanished and I’ve settled in so easily. Recruitment can be stressful but very rewarding!

How would you describe the relationships between all the staff members?

There is a nice balance of fun and professionalism. Everyone remembers they’re at work but there’s always a social buzz. It’s nice to get along with colleagues so much so that you look forward to time outside of work with them!

What’s your favourite things about Wade Macdonald?

Being able to connect and meet with all sorts of different people is really refreshing. I get the chance to work with such a variety of people and it’s such a pleasure to place candidates you’ve built up a strong rapport with. The social amenities like the pool/ping-pong/air hockey table are also a plus. It allows us to un-wind and keeps that balance.

But my no.1 favourite thing about WM is how supportive everyone is of each other. Whether it’s a job on, a client meeting or a placement there’s always a roar of applause and encouragement. It is so lovely to work amongst people that want the best for their colleagues.

What advice would you give to individuals who want to get into recruitment?

Definitely try it! I joined with 0 experience within the industry and the training and guidance I’ve been given has been amazing. You won’t know whether you’ll enjoy it unless you give it a go!

Who makes the best cup of tea/coffee?

Tony. Yep, definitely Tony.
